Find Your Feet

How AI Unlocked Human-Led Storytelling for an Under-Resourced Nonprofit

Find Your Feet is a cinematic brand film and campaign for the SCORES Network that proves something radical: when AI is used with restraint, craft and intention, it doesn’t look like AI at all — it looks like world-class storytelling. Built entirely under strict generative constraints — before modern AI tools were fast, polished and more forgiving — Find Your Feet stands shoulder-to-shoulder with traditional animation and still holds up against today’s best generative output.

Most importantly: it gave a nonprofit access to a level of storytelling they could never otherwise afford.

Building a Launchpad for Underserved Communities

The SCORES Network empowers kids 5–14 in underserved communities through soccer, poetry and service learning. They become “Poet-Athletes,” building strength, confidence and leadership on and off the field. They trusted Code and Theory, a technology and creative agency, to capture the non-profit's evolving ethos in a cinematic brand film built entirely with generative AI tools.

Making a Non-profit's Mission Shine with AI

Creating a film of this magnitude would normally require live-action or high-end animation, large crews, long timelines and massive budgets this nonprofit simply didn’t have. At the same time, Code and Theory approached the project as part of New York Festivals' AI Competition, which mandated exclusive use of LTX Studio for generative assets, no traditional animation pipelines, and production-level polish — not concepts.

To make it harder, this was May 2025 — when generative tools were slow, inconsistent, and far less capable than today. The challenge wasn’t just to use AI.
It was to make something human, emotional, and credible with it.

Before Kids Find Their Path,
They Have To Find Their Feet

Confidence doesn’t arrive all at once.
It starts with movement. With voice. With belonging.

That truth became the creative spine — told not by adults explaining a program, but through the inner world of a child, shaped by using real poetry from real SCORES participants.

A Cinematic Story of Transformation

We created a film through the eyes of a young “Poet-Athlete”, where sport, poetry and mentorship converge to help a child find confidence, identity, and community.

Every word of the narration and handwritten typography was drawn directly from real poems and verses written by kids in the SCORES program. AI didn't imagine their voices — it amplified them.

System-to-Story vs. Prompt-to-Video

LTX alone couldn’t yet deliver the required fidelity needed for the film's vision, so the team built a hybrid production system, round-tripping between LTX Studio for generative worlds, characters and motion, alongside traditional tools like After Effects, Photoshop and Premiere for compositing, cleanup, pacing and polish.

Every shot required manual character-consistency work, custom style anchoring, iterative prompting and compositing and hand-drawn typographic elements inspired by children’s handwriting. The result was a human-meets-machine aesthetic — intentionally restrained, emotionally grounded, and visually cohesive.

Scaling the System Into a Campaign

Find Your Feet was meant to live as a single asset, but we saw the potential and built a world around it. We scaled the video's system into a full campaign inclusive of a hero brand film, modular social content and fexible templates used across onboarding, education, and live events. We also lauched two social series; "Field Notes", poetic words of encouragement drawn from youth writing; and "Keeping Score", data-driven posts revealing the realities SCORES addresses.

The work became a portable storytelling engine
— capable of explaining a complex mission clearly, emotionally, and quickly.
