Building a brand in a brand new category

Great brands transcend their categories, and dosist — a Time’s Invention of the Year cannabis company — is well on its way. YML was tasked to design and develop the brand’s website in a market that was mostly undefined, culturally taboo and challenges inconsistent legalities.

Elevating industry perceptions

The rise of mainstream cannabis use, despite research that supports it as a wellness product, has given way to many misconceptions. We wanted to give the dosist customer a holisitc design experience from first tap to product delivery.

Building full-stack e-commerce

Due to national restrictions, many vendors are unwilling to provide back-end service for an e-commerce platform in the cannabis indistry. YML needed to architect a selling structure showcasing dosist’s full product suite, while allowing for e-commerce capabilities (like inventory management and merchant processing/checkout capability).

Beauty, form and function

The digital ecosystem we created is beautiful, emotional and appeals to the senses, directly mirroring dosist’s physical products. We produced a three-pronged solution centered on how we engage, educate and inspire the wellness seeker.

“YML is one of those crown jewel companies in the business.”

Engage

A guided experience directs people to the right product to help manage their individual lifestyle and wellbeing.

Educate

Best known for their proprietary delivery services — the dose pen, and the dose dial — we created a way to show them simply and beautifully.

Inspire

Real people tell real stories about how cannabis is a tool for them, showcasing how dosist brings to life the benefits of its targeted formulas.

Flexible, headless commerce

We built a system that was distributed, modular, stateless and scalable (also known as “Headless”). The entire system was deployed across an enterprise level cloud service (Microsoft Azure), and worked in tandem with a custom constructed CMS that allowed dosist to publish updates to their site further without support.
