Ashish Toshniwal

CEO and co-founder

With vision and passion, Ashish has built YML from nothing to what it is today — an award-winning digital product and design agency. Focusing on work culture and innovation, he has created a place where people can not only do their work, but their life’s work.

In 2009, Ashish and his co-founder Sumit Mehra saw an opportunity to create a future-forward company that created mobile-first products and experiences to help brands win in a digital world. More than 10 years later, YML has transformed to become a digital-first, holistic customer design and technology company. Under Ashish’s leadership, YML has grown to nearly 400 strong, with six locations around the world, and over 30 Fortune 500 clients, including Apple, The Home Depot, Facebook and State Farm. YML’s work has been responsible for some of the most inspiring digital transformations of this generation.

The Home Depot has been recognized by Forrester as the best-in-class mobile experience, Molekule was one of Time Magazine’s Top 25 Inventions of the Year, and State Farm has the top score for JD Power.

His vision has led YML to be recognized as “One of the most innovative companies in Silicon Valley,” by The Wall Street Journal. He has been featured on CNBC, ABC News and Forbes on how technology will shape the future. He's also a TED speaker, and hosts "Y in the Valley" — a podcast for those who follow the change, not the plan.

Starting as a software engineer, Ashish is a pioneer in mobile, product design and technology. A relentless curiosity makes him an early adopter of new technology, a passionate cryptocurrency enthusiast and also a prolific angel investor. Some of his investments include People.ai, Latch, Robinhood, Acorns and more.

Ashish loves to play (win) at poker — you have been warned. He enjoys consuming podcasts and biographies. And he lives in Los Altos, CA, with his wife and two sons.
